SSRC is a mission directed enterprise grounded in "One Health" and "One Planet" and a proud member of the HAPPEN Consortium dedicated to participatory action strategies in advancing Health.
Suvarna Swasthya Research Centre (SSRC) with a vision of ‘ONE HEALTH’ and under the guidance of Dr. Vijay. V. Yeldandi became functional on December 2020 providing Diagnostic and Medical treatment solutions in the field of Infectious diseases.
SSRC is equipped with high end technology (VITEK MS - Mass Spectrometry, BACT ALERT 3D, Vitek 2, Eppendorf CO2 incubator) required to diagnose Bacterial, Fungal, Mycobacterial and Viral infections from clinical samples.
Through Mass Spectrometry and by highly sensitive culture techniques, many under identified and difficult to identify critical pathogens are being detected like Non tuberculous Mycobacteria (MOTT or Atypical Mycobacteria), Probiotic bacteria entering blood stream, animal pathogens like Brucella, Filamentous fungi belonging to Mucorales and many more.
With the number of Non tuberculous Mycobacteria identification is increasing, SSRC has planned to maintain a National registry for NTM.
Many critical pathogens were diagnosed from patients with HIV , organ transplantation and patients undergoing cancer chemotherapy.
Using combination of Automated methods, best culture techniques and Mass Spectrometry the Turn Around Time to detect and report infectious pathogens is very less when compared to other routine laboratories. This in turn is benefiting both Clinicians and patients to for their treatment.
Antibiogram of pathogens are updated in WHO NET on daily basis which is essential for Global Surveillance of Anti Microbial Resistance.
The details of patients who are Positive for Acid Fast Bacilli are uploaded in NIKSHAY Portal.
As a part of advancement in diagnostics and research, SSRC is now equipped with Anti Tubercular Drug Sensitivity Testing through Sensititre method. This advancement gives an edge to clinician for precise treatment of Mycobacterial infections and prevention of drug resistance.
SSRC which was started with a vision of Diagnostic and Research facility, within a short period of time, gained the trust of many Hospitals, Medical Colleges, Speciality and Super Speciality Doctors, Diagnostic centers and patients as they have the comfort of rapid and precise diagnosis as well as treatment solution for Infectious Diseases.
SSRC also promotes and provide academic learning sessions for Medical Post graduates and PhD's in Clinical Microbiology.
SSRC provide a comprehensive solution for Infection Prevention and Control as a program for hospitals and also aid in training and capacity building.
SSRC provide laboratory technical certified training programs for Laboratory technologists.
SSRC also provide diagnostic support to Veterinary, Agriculture and Food processing industries.
